The Role
BioTradX runs a B2B marketplace where buyers and suppliers of biomass, used cooking oil, used engine oil and other circular materials list material, post requirements, negotiate and complete trades.
As a Platform Engineer you will build and scale the core technology behind it: the APIs, dashboards, trade workflows, payments integration and data systems that support high-volume B2B transactions.
What You Will Own
- Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs for the marketplace.
- Build and improve trade workflows across listings, RFQs, negotiation and order progress.
- Work on payments integration and the flows that support settlement.
- Develop dashboards and internal tools that help operations and partner teams track trades.
- Design data systems that support reporting and marketplace analytics.
- Improve the performance, reliability and scalability of cloud infrastructure.
- Ship improvements in small, well-tested increments and document technical decisions.
What Success Looks Like
- Marketplace workflows stay reliable as transaction volume grows.
- New features reach users through well-tested, documented releases.
- Operations and partner teams have the dashboards and data they need to run trades.
What We Are Looking For
- 3-6 years of experience in backend or full-stack development.
- Strong proficiency in backend frameworks, databases and APIs.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and scalable systems.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-growing startup environment.
Helpful, But Not Essential
- Prior experience with marketplaces, fintech or B2B platforms.
